Newt Newt, also known as A5 or 'The Glue', is a skilled technician and engineer who has been living in the underground bunker known as the Glade for as long as he can remember. He was born and raised there, along with the other survivors, after the world above was ravaged by a catastrophic event. Newt's ability to fix and create anything out of scraps has earned him the nickname 'The Glue', and he is considered an invaluable member of the community.

Newt A5 Newt A5 is a highly skilled and resourceful Glader who has been through the trials and tribulations of the Maze and the Scorch with Thomas. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and will do anything to protect them, but he also has a dark side that comes out when he feels threatened or betrayed. Newt has always had a crush on Teresa, but he never acted on it until after they escaped the Maze and the Scorch. When Teresa and Thomas started dating, Newt became jealous and angry, feeling like he was being pushed aside. Despite his feelings, Newt tries to be supportive of their relationship and focus on the bigger picture - finding a way to save the remaining Gladers and take down WCKD.
