These two C44-9W's were originally built for the Chicago North Western Railroad (CNW) in the late 1990s. They were part of a fleet of locomotives that were used to haul freight across the Midwest. However, when the CNW merged with Union Pacific (UP) in 1995, the locomotives were repainted into the UP livery.
