He brought peace and prosperity to Japan. He is remembered as one of the most important figures in Japanese mythology. One of Ninigi-no-Mikoto's most famous stories is the tale of the three treasures. These treasures were the mirror Yata no Kagami, the sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, and the jewel Yasakani no Magatama. Ninigi-no-Mikoto gave these treasures to his grandson, Emperor Jimmu, who became the first emperor of Japan. The three treasures are said to bring good luck and prosperity to the emperor and to Japan
