Smiley Bird wishes for a new home, and Mr. Stain grants his wish. Smiley Bird is so happy with his new home that he starts to sing and dance. His singing and dancing attracts the attention of a group of bullies. The bullies start to pick on Smiley Bird, but he doesn't fight back. He just keeps smiling and singing. The bullies are eventually so embarrassed by their own behavior that they leave Smiley Bird alone. Smiley Bird continues to live in his new home, and he continues to be happy and smiling. He is a reminder that even in the worst of times, there is always hope.
