Coaly was so beloved by the workers that they preserved his bones after he died in 1893. His skeleton is now on display in the HUB–Robeson Center on campus. There is also an honorary society for College of Agricultural Sciences students at Penn State named "The Coaly Society." Coaly's legacy as a beloved Penn State mascot continues to this day.
