The Umbrella Academy The Umbrella Academy is a group of seven superhero siblings who were born to 43 different women on the same day, October 1st, 1989. They were all adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a wealthy industrialist who raised them to become a team of superheroes. The Academy was named after the umbrella that Hargreeves used to carry around, which he believed symbolized their dysfunctional family.
