Kanji ISHIWARA
Kanji ISHIWARA was a Japanese admiral in the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. He was born in 1890 in the city of Hiroshima. He graduated from the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy in 1912 and served in a variety of ships and positions throughout his career. He was promoted to admiral in 1941.
ISHIWARA was a supporter of the Japanese Navy's plan to attack Pearl Harbor. He was the commander of the Japanese fleet that attacked the Philippines in December 1941. He was also the commander of the Japanese fleet that attacked the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in April 1942.
ISHIWARA was a skilled and experienced naval officer. He was also a ruthless and determined commander. He was responsible for the deaths of thousands of American and Filipino soldiers and civilians.
ISHIWARA was killed in action in June 1944 during the Battle of the Philippine Sea. He was posthumously promoted to fleet admiral.

Hatsuyuki is a destroyer who was built in 1934. She served in the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II and was sunk in 1944.
Hatsuyuki was a member of the Fubuki-class of destroyers, which were the first destroyers to be built in Japan after World War I. She was commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1934 and assigned to the 1st Destroyer Division.
Hatsuyuki saw action in the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Battle of the Java Sea. In 1944, she was assigned to the escort of the aircraft carrier Zuikaku during the Battle of the Philippine Sea. During the battle, Hatsuyuki was hit by a bomb and sank.
Hatsuyuki was posthumously awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, 4th Class, for her service in World War II.
In the anime series Kantai Collection, Hatsuyuki is a ship girl who is based on the real-life destroyer. She is a member of the Fubuki-class of destroyers and is assigned to the 1st Destroyer Division. Hatsuyuki is a cheerful and optimistic ship girl who is always willing to help her friends.

Hatsuharu is a destroyer from the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was the lead ship of her class of destroyers. Hatsuharu was laid down on 10 November 1931, launched on 20 March 1933, and commissioned on 25 November 1934.
