One day, Tama was playing with some children in the forest when he was attacked by a group of other youkai. Tama fought bravely, but he was outnumbered and overpowered. Just when it seemed like he was about to be defeated, Natsume came to his rescue. Natsume defeated the other youkai and saved Tama's life. Tama was so grateful to Natsume for saving him that he vowed to be his friend forever. Tama and Natsume have been friends ever since. They go on many adventures together, and they always have each other's backs.
