Despite the efforts of her mother and the other tribe members, Whisperpaw's condition worsened, and she was forced to spend most of her time in her den, unable to participate in the tribe's activities. As she lay in her den, Whisperpaw couldn't help but feel like she was missing out on the life she had always dreamed of.
