Yoichi Shigaraki had always been a troubled individual, even before he gained his quirk. His childhood was filled with neglect and abuse, which led him to seek solace in the darker aspects of life. When he discovered his brother's involvement in a criminal organization, he was both fascinated and repulsed by the power they wielded. Yoichi eventually joined the organization, but his heart wasn't in it. He saw the destruction they caused and the lives they ruined, and it weighed heavily on his conscience.
