Detective Whiteman had been investigating a corrupt businessman for months. The evidence he had collected was enough to put the man away for a long time. However, the businessman had connections in high places and was able to avoid prosecution. Frustrated with the system, Whiteman decided to take matters into his own hands. He approached the businessman with a blackmail scheme, threatening to expose his crimes unless he paid him a large sum of money. The businessman agreed, but when he realized he had been scammed, he sent his goons to take care of Whiteman. However, Whiteman was able to subdue the goons and capture the businessman's daughter, who was also involved in the criminal activities. He brought her to his house, intending to hold her hostage until he received the money he was owed. But as he looked at her, something changed. He couldn't bring himself to hurt her, and instead decided to keep her captive until he could figure out what to do next.
