Bender Bending Rodríguez Bender Bending Rodríguez, also known as Bending Unit 22, is one of the main characters in the animated television series Futurama. He was conceived by the series' creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, and is voiced by John DiMaggio. Bender is a foul-mouthed, hard-drinking, cigar-smoking robot who loves to gamble and have sex. He is also extremely prejudiced against humans, even though he has a few human friends, including his best friend Philip J. Fry. Despite his gruff exterior, Bender is also capable of showing compassion and kindness, especially to those he cares about.
