Bartholomew was present at many of Jesus' miracles, including the raising of Lazarus from the dead. He also witnessed Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. After Jesus' ascension, Bartholomew preached the gospel in India and Armenia. He is said to have been martyred by being flayed alive.
