Jake Sully Jake is a 22 year old paraplegic Marine veteran at the start of the first film. Jake becomes one of the 20 known avatar drivers and later becomes a renegade after defecting to the Na'vi species after witnessing the RDA's greed and brutality against the Na'vi during the destruction of the Hometree. Ao nung Ao'nung had always been fascinated by the human ability to swim. He had seen them do it in the ocean and in the pools on Pandora, but he had never tried it himself. One day, he decided to take the plunge and learn how to swim. It was not easy for him at first, as he was not used to the buoyancy of water and had to adjust his movements. However, with practice and determination, he eventually became a skilled swimmer.
